Location: Wallingford, UK (Hybrid)

**Purpose:**
To ensure precise and timely accounting and management reporting for centrally allocated programmes. This role supports the Senior Project Accountant in reviewing CABI’s externally funded projects, and in budgeting and reforecasting activities.

**What You’ll Do:**

– Conduct monthly reporting, variance analysis, and KPI assessments for key programmes (Juno, PlantwisePlus, and BioProtection Portal), ensuring submissions are accurate and timely.
– Review and issue claims to Programme Leaders and Global Team Leaders, ensuring necessary adjustments are accurately completed before deadlines.
– Set up new projects in the financial systems for the programmes.
– Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports and analysis to enhance the understanding of project performance.
– Assist the Senior Project Accountant with audit requirements, donor reporting, and monthly programme and project income accruals.
– Provide first-line support to Global Team Leaders (PlantwisePlus), Project Managers, and Regional Office Finance Staff.
– Assist with accounting, budgeting, and re-forecasting processes for programmes and various externally funded projects.
– Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with CABI accounting procedures to meet audit requirements.
– Undertake training on the new finance system and offer support and assistance during the implementation phase.
– Perform other ad hoc tasks and analyses within the scope of the role.

**Experience:**

– Experience in project accounting and reporting in an international context.
– Proficient in budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
– Skilled in using a range of IT packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and accountancy systems.

**Education & Qualifications:**

– AAT qualified.
– Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
