Contract Duration: Fixed-Term Contract (12 months)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Project Assistant to become part of our Research team. This position is crucial for advancing and supporting the execution of several high-impact global health and international development projects during an exciting growth phase. As a Project Assistant, you will collaborate with a vibrant, multidisciplinary, and international team, including partners in the UK, Uganda, and Tanzania, to ensure the efficient administration of various projects in collaboration with the UK-registered charity ‘Knowledge for Change’.

The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for project administration, demonstrating the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential, along with the capability to foster productive relationships across the university and with external stakeholders. A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) is vital, as is the willingness to challenge current practices to promote positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

– Manage the administration of a diverse array of Global Health research and International Development projects.
– Engage with external stakeholders such as project partners, NHS health workers, undergraduate students, and funding bodies.
– Collaborate with research, academic, and professional services colleagues across the University and with Knowledge for Change.
– Organize national and international travel arrangements for colleagues and stakeholders, including for workshops, conferences, and training programs.
– Gather and analyze feedback from our international student placement program, report on outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
– Contribute to the development of best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
