About the Department of Learning and Leadership (DLL):
The DLL is a prominent research and teaching department within the IOE, consisting of approximately 110 academic staff members. We are recognized as a world leader in several key subject areas, including Early Years and Primary Education, Educational Leadership, Education Policy, and Initial Teacher Education (ITE). Our department places a strong emphasis on innovative research, teaching, and enterprise across these areas. We combine cutting-edge research and evidence-based teaching methods with a commitment to translating our work into policy and practice.
About the Role:
We are seeking a successful candidate to lead our International and UK Consultancy programs. As one of two Program Directors in the Center for Educational Leadership, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of large-scale, high-value professional development programs of national and international significance.
Your role will involve strategy development, accountability for financial management, recruitment, and quality targets, building and maintaining senior-level relationships, leading and motivating large teams, overseeing system and process development, and ensuring continuous quality improvement in our international delivery network. It is essential that you have a deep understanding of education policy priorities in England and internationally.
In addition to directly managing a team of Program Leaders, you will also have matrix management responsibilities for larger project teams consisting of existing and associate staff. The role will involve significant international and national travel.
About You:
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate a successful career in a senior educational leadership position, leading either a large department or a significant part of an education organization. You should also have experience in leading the design and delivery of professional learning on a considerable scale and/or of national importance, working with delivery partners and government clients.
Furthermore, you should possess expert knowledge of current national and international education policy and practices, along with the ability to contribute to the development of future policy. Excellent presentation and influencing skills are also essential.
