Now let’s dive into the role of a CIEE Program Assistant. This position primarily involves providing support to CIEE students who are living and studying in Sydney. The Program Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that students have a fulfilling and enriching experience during their time abroad. They assist in organizing various activities and events that foster student engagement and contribute to a high-quality student experience.

The responsibilities of a CIEE Program Assistant include:

1. Assisting students with acclimating to life and academics in Sydney.
2. Collaborating with the Student Life Office to coordinate Orientation and Extracurricular activities.
3. Helping students connect with local activities and events in Sydney that enhance their study abroad journey.
4. Regularly communicating and coordinating with the Student Life Manager to ensure student well-being.
5. Providing advice to students on safety and security, as well as recommending activities and attractions in Sydney.
6. Adhering to CIEE’s health and safety protocols during emergencies.
7. Undertaking any other duties as assigned.

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

1. Previous experience in coordinating student experience or community engagement initiatives.
2. Extensive knowledge of Sydney and its surroundings.
3. Familiarity with and interest in U.S. culture and the study abroad experience is desirable.
4. Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
5. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
