George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and Department of Political Science are seeking applications for a full-time, tenured faculty position in security studies, available at the associate or full professor level starting as early as Fall 2025. The ideal candidate will have a notable record in research, teaching, and policy work within the field of security studies. The position will reside within the Elliott School’s Institute for Security and Conflict Studies and will be part of the M.A. program in Security Policy Studies. It also includes a joint appointment with the GW Political Science Department, and teaching duties will cover both undergraduate and graduate courses in the Elliott School and the Political Science Department.
Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in political science or a related discipline, focusing on security. Applicants should have an impressive record of publications, an active research agenda, extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels, success in obtaining external funding, and proven engagement with academic and policy communities.
The advertised salary range is $125,000 – $150,000.
