**Job Opportunity**
The Woody L. Hunt College of Business at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking exceptional candidates for an esteemed endowed chair position. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of outstanding research, demonstrated by publications in top-tier academic journals, who is recognized as a leader in the fields of international business or economics, particularly concerning U.S.-Mexico trade and commerce. The successful applicant will be appointed as a full professor and is expected to forge collaborative relationships with faculty and Centers within the Woody L. Hunt College, as well as with other regional, national, and international entities, to further UTEP’s mission. Key responsibilities include conducting scholarly research and publishing in leading academic journals, teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, mentoring doctoral students and participating in the Ph.D. Program in Business Administration, engaging in community outreach, and serving on various faculty committees.
The position is anticipated to commence in Fall 2025, offering an AACSB-competitive salary and benefits package that aligns with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Final hiring decisions will depend on budgetary approval.
**Qualifications and Preferences**
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a business-related field or economics and possess a record of research excellence (ideally focused on U.S.-Mexico trade issues) and teaching that aligns with the rank of a full professor with tenure at a Carnegie R1 doctoral university. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in policy-relevant activities at various centers and institutes. Successful history in securing grants and experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations related to U.S.-Mexico trade and commerce are highly desirable.

Hunt College of Business has been bolstered by a historic $25 million donation from the Woody and Gayle Hunt Family Foundation. This generous gift aims to position the College as a leader in U.S.-Mexico trade and commerce. Strategically located on the U.S.-Mexico border, Hunt College provides unparalleled research and knowledge dissemination opportunities concerning trade issues between the two nations. The college offers a variety of academic programs, including BBA, MBA, MSEcon, MAcc, and Ph.D. in Business Administration, and serves approximately 3,500 students with a dedicated team of 60 full-time faculty members across three departments: Accounting and Information Systems, Economics and Finance, and Marketing, Management, and Supply Chain Management.
