Job Title: Pro Vice Chancellor Launceston Executive Dean Regional

Job Description:
As the Pro Vice Chancellor Launceston Executive Dean Regional, you will have the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of the University’s regional education plan. This role focuses on expanding participation and success in regional education, with a strategic emphasis on professional programs. You will oversee the Inveresk and Newnham campuses in Launceston, collaborating with the Campus Futures team to align campus development with academic strategy to enhance student experience. Additionally, you will establish and lead the Launceston Institute, leveraging investments from the City Deal to position Northern Tasmania as an innovation hub. Your role will involve connecting university research with local industry for regional sustainability. As a seasoned university leader, you will foster connections across campuses, model collegiality, and collaborate within the academic community. You will also forge partnerships with industry and government to address regional skills gaps and expand course opportunities, demonstrating a profound commitment to the University’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:
– Cultivate a thriving staff community in Launceston and across campuses, fostering engagement and inclusion
– Promote campus initiatives to increase social inclusion and enhance student wellbeing at Inveresk and Newnham
– Develop regional data, evidence, and technical expertise to support Academic Division initiatives
– Communicate campus developments and set targets with the senior leadership team to meet future academic needs

Required Qualifications and Skills:
– Hold a Doctoral level qualification relevant to the University’s offerings
– Proven history of effective leadership within academia
– Ability to engage and advocate for academic units while interpreting higher education trends
– Experience in developing enduring academic strategies and engaging diverse stakeholders
– Exceptional communication skills and experience collaborating in collegial settings
– Professional agility, strategic acumen, and a deep understanding of academic culture
