The Russell Group, a consortium of 24 esteemed universities in the UK, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Researcher to join their International Policy team. This is a full-time, permanent entry-level position suitable for a wide range of backgrounds, including policy professionals and recent graduates.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
– Conducting analysis and research, including data analysis, primarily in areas such as national and research security, international research partnerships, and immigration and visas.
– Managing research projects and delivering results.
– Contributing to the creation of high-quality, evidence-based papers for various audiences, including the UK Government, the UK intelligence community, international stakeholders, member universities, and policymakers.
– Collecting and maintaining information about important activities and developments within Russell Group institutions that align with Russell Group policy priorities.
– Participating in the creation of communication materials, including press statements, blogs, opinion pieces, and occasional media interviews.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:
– Experience working on research projects, particularly in relation to policy analysis and development.
– Strong attention to detail when drawing persuasive, evidence-based conclusions.
– Experience analyzing and utilizing various data and information sources to inform evidence-based policy development.
– Ability to write clearly and concisely for different audiences.
– Strong time management skills.
– Proactive approach to work and the ability to manage one’s own workload, both independently and as part of a team.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a good level of numeracy.
