Philanthropy Manager Role at the University of Birmingham – A Unique Opportunity in Higher Education Fundraising

The University of Birmingham invites you to join its dynamic Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) team as a Philanthropy Manager, contributing to one of the world’s most ambitious university campaigns, “Birmingham In Action.”
As a Philanthropy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in helping the University achieve its groundbreaking goal of raising £600 million in charitable funding and mobilizing 1.25 million volunteer hours. In this position, your focus will be on cultivating significant philanthropic gifts to address pressing global challenges such as climate change, cancer research, and health equity, while also ensuring greater access to education through scholarship funding for students from underrepresented backgrounds. You will work directly with donors and stakeholders, building relationships that inspire transformational, long-term financial support for research and education projects.
This role is available as both a Permanent contract and a Fixed Term contract up to March 2027, and is located in Birmingham, UK. You will join a collaborative team including Senior Philanthropy Managers, Philanthropy Managers, and Philanthropy Officers, all dedicated to advancing the University’s philanthropic goals.
