We are seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead the establishment and growth of the University of Portsmouth London Pathway College. As the College Director, you will be instrumental in building and leading a high-performance team, managing budgets, and ensuring that operational and financial targets are met. Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish the Pathway College in collaboration with the University’s senior team and relevant departments, complete with a comprehensive strategic plan, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the College Academic and College Services teams, with direct line management responsibility for several senior staff members.
  • Manage and develop the performance and daily operations of the College to ensure effective and efficient delivery of all teaching, student support, and associated services.
  • Manage the College’s financials, meeting financial targets and producing forecasts in line with agreed timelines and annual budgets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the University of Portsmouth to facilitate seamless communication, accurate forecasting, robust marketing links, and collaborative project discussions.
  • Ensure a high-quality student experience from confirmation of place to completion of studies.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance systems within the College.
  • Oversee local HR, including day-to-day management of College staff and direct management of all senior staff in the College.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing division to ensure up-to-date sales messages and communications.
  • Oversee the annual College monitoring, review, and strategic planning processes in collaboration with Sales team management and central financial and HR functions.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the Northchild Group’s Pathway strategic plan.
  • Ensure College compliance with all UKVI regulations, providing staff training and producing compliance reports as needed.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification (a postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification is desirable).
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of UK further and higher education.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance systems.
  • Extensive experience leading academic and administrative teams in the higher education, pathway, or EFL sector.
  • Knowledge of international students’ needs and experience teaching and/or working with this demographic.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in financial planning and management.
  • Outstanding team skills, both as a leader and as a team player.
  • Commitment to improving and enhancing team and operational performance.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Experience managing budgets and working towards targets.
