The School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) at Florida International University welcomes international applicants for a prestigious nine-month, open-rank faculty position in educational neuroscience. This is an exceptional opportunity for academics passionate about advancing interdisciplinary research in the science of learning from a neuroscientific perspective. We are particularly eager to hear from individuals with a doctorate in educational neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, developmental science, educational psychology, or related fields. Preference will be given to those with expertise in neuroimaging, human developmental neuroscience, or neuropsychological research methods, as the successful candidate will play a crucial role in research, teaching, and mentorship within SEHD.

CIS, equipped with a state-of-the-art 3T Siemens Prisma MRI scanner, enhances FIU’s extensive behavioral research through cutting-edge neuroimaging technologies, expanding its health-related research capacities. There are abundant collaborative prospects with various FIU centers, including the Center for Children and Families, the Center for Research on U.S. Latino HIV/AIDS and Drug Abuse (CRUSADA), the Research Center in Minority Institutions, the Brain, Behavior and the Environment Program, and the Institute of Environment.
We are particularly interested in applicants employing MRI methods to explore human learning, cognition, or social and affective neuroscience questions that are pertinent to applied educational and developmental scenarios.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in educational psychology, cognitive neuroscience, educational neuroscience, developmental science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated research trajectory focused on human neurobiological or neuropsychological processes in applied educational and/or developmental contexts.
- Ability to teach and/or mentor students.
- Expertise in one or more neuroimaging techniques.
- Broad interest in educational applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research incorporating MRI techniques.
- Experience teaching courses on development, learning, education, and/or neurobiology.
- Participation in funded research.
- Research addressing issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to teach coursework in social and affective neuroscience.
