Currently, FIU is undergoing significant expansion efforts to become a top 50 public research university. In line with this growth, the FIU Center for Translational Science (FIU-CTS) in Port St. Lucie, FL, is seeking qualified candidates with research expertise in areas such as Cardiopulmonary Disease, Stroke, Aging, Cell Metabolomics, and Metabolism; Inflammation, Infection, and Immunity; Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Engineering. Located adjacent to the Cleveland Clinic Florida Research and Innovation Center and the Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital, this position offers opportunities for joint research and collaboration within FIU-Cleveland Clinic research programs. The FIU-CTS in Port St. Lucie is approximately a 2-hour drive from the main campus in Miami and maintains close communication and collaboration through teleconferencing and seminar facilities. The vibrant communities of Port St. Lucie, Pembroke Pines, and West Palm Beach offer excellent school systems and housing options for prospective faculty members.
Successful candidates for this open rank faculty position are expected to hold a PhD and/or an MD with post-doctoral training in a related field. They will be responsible for developing and sustaining a robust research program, including securing external funding, producing peer-reviewed scholarly work, and establishing national and international collaborations. Additionally, candidates will support and mentor graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
