About the position:
UNSW College is seeking a Manager, Sponsored Students to join their dedicated Student Recruitment Team. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree in marketing or communications, or possess extensive experience and management expertise. Additionally, they should have excellent interpersonal communication skills, well-honed analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work effectively and independently within a fast-paced, diverse team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Manager, Sponsored Students will be responsible for overseeing services provided to international sponsor bodies and sponsor recipients, from the initial application process to graduation. This includes developing and implementing targeted engagement strategies to strengthen relationships with existing sponsors, expanding the network of sponsor bodies, maintaining ongoing collaboration and reporting with sponsors, as well as promoting sponsored student recruitment, success, and retention.
The role also involves acting as a liaison between sponsored students and connecting them, along with their sponsor, to various teams such as Admissions, Student Experience, Academic, and Student Recruitment, in order to facilitate positive outcomes for students and sponsors. Occasional international travel related to events will be required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Identification, development, and implementation of a strategy to expand the network of sponsorship bodies collaborating with UNSW College and UNSW.
- Management of contractual agreements with global sponsor bodies in collaboration with UNSW colleagues.
- Development and management of targeted engagement strategies with sponsors to enhance recruitment of sponsored students, foster relationships, and encourage ongoing collaboration.
- Close collaboration with the Student Life and Academic Services teams to develop and manage targeted engagement strategies with sponsorship recipients, supporting student success and retention.
- Development and implementation of processes, policies, and best practices in relation to UNSW College’s engagement with international sponsors and sponsorship recipients.
Requirements:
- Completion of a marketing or communications degree, or extensive experience and management expertise, or a combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Tact and professionalism in negotiating with stakeholders, clients, and government bodies when dealing with complex inquiries.
- Proficiency in a variety of digital platforms such as marketing tools, event management platforms, Microsoft Office suite, and databases/CRMs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to groups, facilitating workshops, and chairing meetings.
- Dedication to providing high standards of customer service in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in languages other than English, especially Arabic, would be advantageous.
