Job Description
King’s Foundations are looking for an experienced and suitably qualified person to join the team delivering the King’s International Foundation (KIF) Programme. The KIF Programme is a specialist academic course designed for ambitious international students who want to progress to undergraduate degrees at King’s College London. We are a popular programme (730 students in 22/23) with a diverse intake and recent growth has led to the creation of this new role.
You will work with the Head of Programme and two current coordinators to oversee the development of the Foundation programme, ensuring that the learning outcomes, content, assessments, and modes of delivery prepare students for UG degrees at King’s.
You will have a particular focus on overseeing STEM provision, working with key stakeholders both within and outside the department to ensure our students progress to a range of UG departments as engaged, effective, independent learners who achieve their potential.
You will also be asked to undertake other departmental duties such as line management, participating in working groups and committees, and managing projects as required.
Please note that as some of the students you teach will be under 18, and as you may be required to act as Personal Tutor to these students, an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service is a prerequisite for the role.
In addition, although King’s Foundations is based in the iconic Bush House, a Grade II listed building that formerly housed the BBC World Service, you may also be required to work on any of the King’s campuses, or from home.
King’s values the diversity of its staff and student body, and recognises that this is both a strength and a defining feature of King’s as a London university in a global context. We therefore particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups.
When applying for the role, please address each essential and desirable criterion in the person specification in turn, using separate headings.
Contract type:
This post will be offered on an indefinite contract. This is a full-time post.
