OVERVIEW The Program Specialist (WCC) ā International Student Services at Westchester Community College plays a central role in supporting international students throughout their academic journey. This position focuses on student success, regulatory compliance, and cross-campus collaboration to ensure a welcoming and well-supported international student experience. The role combines immigration advising, program coordination, and institutional partnership within a U.S. community college setting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 international students – Serve as Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 exchange visitor programs – Issue immigration documents for international students – Complete required SEVIS reporting and maintain regulatory compliance – Advise international students on employment eligibility and travel regulations – Coordinate intercultural and international programs – Support outreach and recruitment initiatives for international students – Collaborate with campus partners to enhance the international student experience REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International student services roles are critical to ensuring that students remain in legal status while fully engaging in their academic and cultural experience. By managing compliance and providing informed advising, this position helps protect both students and the institution.
