OVERVIEW The Director of Fellowships is an inaugural leadership role responsible for creating and leading Colby’s Fellowships Office at Colby College. This position focuses on advising students and alumni pursuing nationally and internationally competitive fellowships and global experience funding. The role combines strategic program development with hands-on mentoring and external engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Design, launch, and lead Colby’s Fellowships Office – Advise students and alumni on nationally and internationally competitive fellowships and global experience funding – Mentor students through fellowship applications, including Fulbright and DAAD – Develop programs and partnerships related to fellowships – Coordinate fellowship committees – Represent the college at professional associations REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role supports students and alumni as they pursue transformational academic and global opportunities through fellowships. By building a centralized office and strong advising practices, the position strengthens institutional capacity and visibility for competitive applications. It also deepens Colby’s engagement with external associations and funding networks.
