OVERVIEW The Executive Director role at The Europaeum is a senior leadership position focused on advancing cross-border intellectual exchange among a network of leading European universities. Based in Oxford, the role combines strategic leadership, external representation, and operational management. The position is offered at 0.6–1.0 FTE and involves regular engagement across Europe. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the overall direction and activities of The Europaeum – Represent the organisation to academic leaders and policymakers – Work closely with member universities across Europe – Oversee partnerships and fundraising activities – Manage an Oxford-based team – Support international academic collaboration – Support doctoral programmes – Support Europe-wide initiatives – Undertake regular travel across Europe REQUIREMENTS – Ability to undertake regular travel across Europe – Capacity to be based in Oxford, England WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role plays a central part in sustaining and strengthening collaboration between European universities at a time when cross-border academic exchange is strategically important.
