OVERVIEW The Student Immigration Compliance and Advice Manager plays a central role in supporting international student activity within higher education by leading the university’s student immigration function. This role focuses on ensuring full compliance with sponsor licence duties while providing expert immigration advice to both student and staff communities. Positioned within Academic Services, the role contributes to an enabling academic environment through effective, user-centred processes and informed decision making. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the university’s student immigration function – Ensure compliance with student sponsor licence duties – Deliver expert immigration advice and guidance to students and staff – Develop and implement policies supporting student immigration activity – Design and oversee systems and processes for accurate data monitoring and reporting – Drive ongoing regulatory compliance using a data-led approach – Support risk management through effective reporting and monitoring – Manage and lead a team delivering student immigration services REQUIREMENTS – In-depth expert knowledge of UKVI regulations and student visa requirements – Experience managing student immigration compliance within higher education – Strong data literacy skills – Ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective processes – Experience developing reporting tools – Excellent management, communication, and organisational skills – Experience of leading a team WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role is essential in protecting the institution’s ability to recruit and support international students by maintaining robust immigration compliance.
