Job Summary:
The Intervention Specialist plays a key role in assisting at-risk students, those on academic probation or suspension, by providing proactive advising and holistic support. This guidance aims to equip students with the tools needed for academic success, including opportunities for personal and career development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Academic Success Coaches to assist students with course registration, advising, and evaluating academic standing.
- Guide students in completing Academic Reinstatement Appeals.
- Oversee the assessment and progress of at-risk students through strategic interventions.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student retention.
- Respond to early alerts from faculty/staff and support students in setting goals for success.
- Serve as a liaison for academic and student support services on campus.
- Employ data-driven outreach and timely academic interventions to meet student needs.
- Maintain confidential student records and document academic interventions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Three years of related experience.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Additional Requirements:
- The role requires evening and weekend work, as well as regular on-campus interactions.
- Supervisory duties are involved.
Salary: $19.06 hourly
