**Faculty/Directorate**

Library and Student Services (LSS) offers an extensive range of services to support our students, including Student Welfare, Careers & Employability, Digital Skills, Global Mobility, and Learning Development and Support. The Student Welfare Division encompasses International Student Support, Disability Advice and Support, Wellbeing, Mental Health, and the Mandala and No Space for Hate initiatives.

**Role**

We are seeking an International Student Support Assistant to provide advice and guidance to international students, assist with event planning and activities, organize day trips, handle airport pickups, and manage welcome and orientation activities and the i-Buddies befriending program. Additionally, the role involves managing team finance and procurement systems and developing social media content. The position requires occasional evening and weekend work, roughly six Saturdays per year, to support student events and airport pickups. The role is full-time (37 hours per week) and permanent.

**Ideal Candidate**

You should have proven experience in providing frontline advice and guidance, possessing excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills. Your cultural awareness will enable effective engagement with students from diverse nationalities and backgrounds, many of whom may not speak English as their first language. You’ll handle welfare inquiries, casework, and engage with larger student groups through information sessions, workshops (both in-person and online), and organized social events and trips. Collaboration with university teams and external agencies is vital. Comfort with finance and procurement systems is also necessary.
