Salary: The starting salary for a full-time position is typically between £34,980 and £44,263, with a potential increase to £46,974 after being in the role for some time. The role of the International Student Recruitment Manager is vital in developing and implementing a strategy that will support the growth ambitions of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, as well as the University, for the foreseeable future. As the International Student Recruitment Manager for the College, you should possess a comprehensive understanding of both the local and global student recruitment landscape. Your skills will be instrumental in maximizing student enrollment from key markets, while also capitalizing on emerging markets. You will collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure successful recruitment of international students for undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the College. Your responsibilities will encompass coordinating on-campus, overseas, and online recruitment activities, liaising with teams both in the UK and at University offices worldwide. You will also establish and maintain strategic partnerships with partner institutions, overseeing the recruitment of students through articulation agreements. Additionally, you will support efforts to recruit students for the Dubai campus and other transnational education initiatives. As a member of the College Student Recruitment team, you will provide leadership and expert guidance. You will contribute to creating a supportive and collaborative team culture, both within the College and External Relations departments. Person Specification: – A university degree or equivalent work experience – Extensive knowledge of Higher Education and experience working in the sector – In-depth understanding of international student recruitment and admissions – Strategic and critical thinking skills related to Higher Education and international student recruitment – Experience managing and organizing events, both in-person and online – Ability to present information in an enthusiastic and professional manner, both in-person and online – Experience collaborating with various stakeholders and influencing colleagues of different seniority levels – Experience and proven knowledge of cultural sensitivities in international education – Thorough understanding of cultural differences in international marketing – Excellent written and oral communication skills, with confidence in handling projects at all levels – Strong numeracy and computer literacy skills, including proficiency in using databases and spreadsheets (particularly Access and Excel) for analysis and modeling – Experience in budget negotiation and management – Ability to work well under pressure and meet competing deadlines – Proven ability to work collaboratively, influence others, and motivate teams – Demonstrable leadership experience, with excellent negotiation, diplomacy, and communication skills – Experience supervising or managing staff – Tenacious with a creative and innovative problem-solving approach – A team player who can also work independently – Ability to build and lead productive and effective teams – Enthusiastic approach with the ability to bring people together to work towards a shared goal – Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends, and to travel overseas and spend nights away from home If you have any informal inquiries, please contact Rachel Ellis via email at r.ellis.3@bham.ac.uk.
