Job Description:

Vincennes University is currently looking for an International Student Coordinator for their main campus. This position involves the onboarding and retention of international students.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement an online and in-person international student orientation program, covering topics such as resources, immigration regulations, education system, class registration, student bills, health insurance, safety, and employment.
– Coordinate all aspects of international student orientation, including airport pick-ups, meals, housing, activities, materials, student assistants, trips, and external vendors.
– Provide counseling and assistance to enrolled international students regarding university life, academics, finances, transportation, employment, health insurance, campus adjustment, and student status.
– Develop and distribute handouts, workshops, email correspondence, web information, and other materials to effectively communicate information to students.
– Organize cultural and social activities to enhance the international student experience.
– Monitor international student progress and provide support and resources for improvement.
– Remind students of their obligations and inform them of travel limitations.
– Conduct monthly informational meetings and establish a semester newsletter.
– Plan field trips that represent different cultures for international students.
– Provide regular updates to the direct supervisor.
– Assist admissions with student visa compliance.

Required Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree
– Must be a U.S citizen or a U.S. permanent resident
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Proficient in Windows 7 environment, internet applications, and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience in international and higher education
– Ability to work some nights and weekends
