Missouri Western State University is seeking applicants for the position of International Student Coordinator. Located in St. Joseph, Missouri, the university is known as the state’s applied learning institution and is committed to academic innovation and student-centered experiences. The International Student Coordinator will work with international students on F and J visas, providing support services and coordinating programs to enhance their experience. The coordinator will also serve as a designated school official for processing student visas.

Key responsibilities of the role include providing individual and group advising to international students, collaborating with campus stakeholders to implement programs, conducting assessments for continuous improvement, managing budgets for international student programs, providing training to faculty and staff, and working with the Office of Admissions and faculty on international admissions and study abroad programs. The coordinator will also perform other related duties as required.

Candidates for this position should have a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in international student advising/counseling in a higher education environment. They should have a strong understanding and experience with managing SEVIS systems and be knowledgeable about immigration regulations, particularly those related to F visas and J visas. Effective collaboration with faculty and experience as a PDSO/DSO and ARO are also required. Candidates should be either a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, hold a valid driver’s license, and have the ability to provide international student immigration advising.
