The Office of International Student Services at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is seeking an International Student Advisor (Student Services Professional 1 – MR07) to provide guidance and support to international graduate students. The ideal candidate will ensure their academic success, personal well-being, and smooth transition to life in the United States. In this role, the International Graduate Student Advisor will work closely with the Executive Director, faculty, and staff to create a supportive environment for international students and maintain compliance with UTC admission policies and SEVIS regulations.

Responsibilities of the position include reviewing and evaluating international graduate student applications, providing immigration, academic, cultural, and personal advising, developing and implementing programs and services to support international graduate students’ success, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and managing the CGE’s website and social media presence. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of F-1 visa regulations and SEVIS, proficiency in computer programs, and familiarity with social media platforms.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years of experience in higher education, and 1-3 years of experience in F-1 and J-1 student advising and SEVIS operations. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, experience working with international students in a higher education setting, and familiarity with web content management systems.
