Ball State University invites applications for the position of International Student Advisor.

Role: The successful candidate will provide guidance to international students, visiting scholars, and their dependents regarding F and J visa regulations. They will also maintain non-immigrant data for current students, scholars, and dependents. Supporting activities that promote internationalization on campus and in the community, especially pre-arrival, arrival, and orientation, is an important aspect of this role.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, at least one year of experience in higher education, and eligibility to serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer and Designated School Official as per federal requirements. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as proficiency in personal computer skills are also necessary.

Candidates must have current authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree, knowledge of F and J visa immigration regulations, 3-6 months of experience advising on F and J visas, work experience in a regional public university, familiarity with SEVIS Batch Processing Software (SUNAPSIS), Banner Student Information System, and Slate admissions CRM.

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$55,000.
