### Job Opportunity: International Student Advisor at NDSU

**Position Overview for International Student Advisor**
The International Student and Study Abroad Services (ISSAS) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) is looking for a dedicated International Student Advisor to join our international services team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a designated cohort of international students. Your primary goal will be to assist students in maintaining their visa status, successfully adapting to life at NDSU and in the US, addressing any personal issues that may impact their studies, and managing other concerns that arise during their time at the university.

**Key Contributions:**
As an International Student Advisor, you will play a vital role in achieving our international student enrollment objectives by:
– Supporting incoming international students during the intake process each semester.
– Designing and implementing student retention programs throughout the academic year.
– Staying updated on the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) for F and J visa programs in the US.

**Core Responsibilities:**
– Provide proactive outreach and guidance to an assigned group of international students.
– Accurately and promptly maintain students’ SEVIS records.
– Foster relationships with campus stakeholders, including department heads, faculty, and student support staff.
– Implement programs to aid intercultural adjustment and ensure student retention.
– Collaborate with the international student services team to create and execute student engagement programs.

**Work Schedule:**
Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, and 7:30 AM – 4 PM during breaks and summer, with occasional evening and weekend hours during the academic year.

**Compensation:**
Starting salary of $45,000 DOE, with excellent benefits.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
– High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
– Experience living, working, or studying abroad and/or in a cross-cultural context.
– U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency in compliance with US CFRs to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).

**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Proficiency in a foreign language.
– Demonstrated detail orientation.
– Experience with federal regulations related to F1 or J1 visas.
