**International Student and Study Abroad Services (ISSAS) Advisor**
**Location:** North Dakota State University (NDSU), Fargo, ND
North Dakota State University (NDSU) is seeking a dedicated International Student Advisor for the International Student and Study Abroad Services (ISSAS) team. This role involves fostering relationships with international students to ensure they maintain their visa status, successfully adapt to life in the U.S. and at NDSU, and address personal matters that may affect their studies.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Student Advising:** Proactively engage with and advise an assigned cohort of international students.
2. **SEVIS Record Maintenance:** Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of students’ SEVIS records.
3. **Campus Collaboration:** Build and maintain relationships with departmental heads, faculty, and student support staff.
4. **Retention Programs:** Develop and deliver programs to aid in intercultural adjustment and student retention.
5. **Student Engagement:** Collaborate with the international student services team to design and implement student engagement programs.
**Work Schedule:**
– Monday – Friday: 8 AM – 5 PM
– Breaks/Summer: 7:30 AM – 4 PM
– Some evening and weekend hours throughout the academic year
**Advertised Salary:**
– Starting at $45,000 DOE

**Minimum Qualifications:**
– High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience, or a BA/BS degree.
– Experience living, working, or studying abroad, or equivalent cross-cultural experience.
– U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Proficiency in a foreign language.
– Demonstrated detail orientation.
– Experience with federal regulations related to F1 or J1 visas.
