This is a part-time position with an FTE of 0.4. The International Student Office at our University is dedicated to offering specialized support services for international students and managing student mobility programs.
We are in search of a highly driven individual to become part of a small team of administrators. This team supports various activities detailed in the key responsibilities below. The International Student Administrator will be assigned specific tasks from these responsibilities and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the office.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– **Visa Advice:** Offer guidance on visas to prospective and current students, as well as their dependent family members, through emails, appointments, workshops, and webinars.
– **Immigration Compliance:** Oversee activities related to student immigration compliance.
– **Mobility Programs:** Manage the funding process for the Turing Scheme and other related programs.
– **Visiting Students:** Advise Faculties and Departments regarding visiting student activities.
– **Funding Awards:** Assist in administering the Kurt Hahn Trust and Smuts Memorial Fund.
– **International Student Support:** Aid in pre-arrival and post-arrival support for international students.
– **Procedure Improvements:** Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of office procedures and systems.
**Required Skills:**
– Possess a degree or equivalent skills and attributes expected of a graduate.
– Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
– Excellent IT skills.
– Ability to understand and apply policies, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.
– Proficient in financial administration.
– Experience in delivering accurate, responsive, and timely administrative services.
– Effective organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload to meet deadlines.
