Job Description

The job entails being responsible for managing health and safety risks for students traveling outside the US. This includes implementing, evaluating, and updating travel preparedness strategies, international travel policies, and procedures for students. The role also involves reviewing and approving travel proposals and vetting universities for exchange programs. In addition, the person in this position will develop risk mitigation strategies for independent study and faculty-led programs, conduct outreach to promote health, safety, and security overseas, and design emergency plans for education abroad.

The job also includes supervising two operations staff and managing internal processes within the Study Abroad Center (SAC). The person will work closely with the director to understand their priorities and ensure effective accomplishment of unit operations. They will also be responsible for improving efficiency, productivity, and client satisfaction. Budget recommendations will be made to the director.

The position reports to the Director of Study Abroad and works closely with the Chief Global Affairs Officer. It requires advanced operational concepts and the ability to resolve highly complex issues. The person will regularly analyze situations and data to evaluate variable factors and make judgments on methods and techniques. This role deals with programs and proposals that have broad impact across study abroad and global engagement. Additionally, the person will develop and oversee the implementation of new risk programs and processes.
