**Position: International Programs Coordinator**

**Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):**

– A Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent/higher) with three years of full-time administrative experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent/higher) with one year of full-time administrative experience (related student work experience may be considered).
– Experience related to international activities such as studying abroad or working within international education or related fields.
– Demonstrated experience in program coordination.
– Proficiency in using technology and software for student management and communication, including but not limited to PeopleSoft, Slate, and Banner.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

– A Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent/higher) in a related field, such as International Relations or International Education.
– Participation in a study abroad program.
– Experience in advising and/or recruiting students for study abroad/exchange programs.
– Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
– Proficiency in a second language.
– Proficiency with PeopleSoft or Terra Dotta.

**Brief Description of Duties:**

The International Programs Coordinator is responsible for advising international exchange students, recruiting students for study abroad programs, assisting with the management of study abroad programs, and overseeing the transfer articulation process to provide students with actionable insights into their academic progress.

**Duties:**

**Administrative:**

– Recruit students for study abroad programs and coordinate their marketing and promotion.
– Manage admissions policies and procedures.
– Assist students and faculty with program logistics and coordination.
– Oversee international partnerships and study opportunities, including internships as assigned.
– Collaborate with SUNY’s international health provider to ensure the safety of faculty, staff, and students.
– Work closely with campus units such as Student Accounts, Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid, Health Insurance, Advising, Transfer, and Judicial to streamline procedures for study abroad programs, including academic considerations like credit transfers and financial aid awards/scholarships.
– Schedule courses for study abroad programs.
– Maintain program budgets.
– Update communication and recruitment materials (e.g., brochures, website).
– Collaborate with other SUNY institutions regarding students participating in programs through SUNY collaborative agreements.

**Advising:**

– Advise students in selecting study abroad programs, academics while abroad, program-specific prerequisites, visa requirements, health and safety, cultural adjustment, and on-site administration.
– Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the SBU curriculum to ensure program integrity.
– Provide high-quality and responsive student service.
– Maintain strong exchange relationships with partner universities.
– Communicate timely information to students, parents, and SBU personnel regarding policies, procedures, program descriptions, financial aid, scholarships, credit transfer, and academic considerations.

**Development:**

– Collaborate with international institutions and SBU academic departments and faculty on study abroad program development.
– Responsible for the implementation and growth of SBU’s study abroad and exchange programs.
– Communicate regularly with program directors and international institutions regarding enrollment numbers and promotional materials.
– Manage the post-acceptance process, including program evaluation and assessment.
– Conduct seminars, information sessions, study abroad fairs, and training sessions to promote study abroad programs.

**Information and Technology:**

– Maintain the accuracy of student participant and registration data across various campuses/universities for reporting to SUNY Administration.
– Coordinate directly with Institutional Research for accurate reporting.
– Record all programs with SUNY Administration.
– Administer and manage all student agreements associated with assigned study abroad programs.

**Other duties or projects as assigned, as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.**

**Special Notes:**

– This is a full-time, FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for overtime provisions of the FLSA. A minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
– The position includes an annual location pay of $3,400, paid biweekly, in addition to the base salary.
– This position does not sponsor work visa candidates.

**Salary:** $68,000 – $71,000
