GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Senior Director of International Programs, the International Programs Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of the Study Abroad and International Programs Office. They will provide support to the Study Abroad leadership team and manage specific areas listed below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Academic Support Services
- Collect data and reports from all 40+ Pitzer exchange programs.
- Assist the Associate Dean with ISEP paperwork and logistics for inbound and outbound exchangers.
- Support the Associate Dean with academic tasks such as registration, class requirements, inventories, educational plans, and grades.
- Aid in material production, such as PowerPoint presentations for SA preparatory classes.
- Collect international syllabi and assist students in website searches.
- Assist in creating MOU drafts.
- Coordinate Faculty Liaison meetings.
- Manage Sakai sites for Faculty Liaisons.
- Provide re-entry support for returnees and conduct focus groups to gather data.
- Gather information from inbound exchange students to enhance our information on exchange partner universities.
- Assist with communications with exchange sites.
- Collect data and reports from all exchange programs.
- Collect data on mental health and diversity, inclusion, and equity.
- Conduct academic and satisfaction surveys.
Immigration
- Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) for Pitzer College.
- Assist with I-20 preparation for international students.
- Update files of international students.
- Assist with SEVIS registration.
- Track and advise students on maintaining F-1 status.
- Provide letters of verification for students.
- Advise international students on employment in the U.S.
- Provide support for international student tax filing.
Programming for International Students
- Plan and organize community events with International Community Student Worker.
- Coordinate community dinners, field trips, and shopping trips.
- Take a leading role in events.
- Assist with transportation and budget management.
- Reintroduce exchange teas and End of Semester Banquets.
7C International Student Community Programming Council
- Attend bi-weekly meetings.
- Help develop international student programming.
- Support and publicize events.
Orientation Logistics for International and Exchange Students
- Assist in hiring Orientation leaders.
- Work with Director and OSA staff in planning orientation programming.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for new international exchanges.
- Coordinate placement and proficiency testing.
