Job Details: International Program Specialist
The International Program Specialist will collaborate with students and faculty in various stages of the education abroad process at PNW. They will have extensive knowledge of different countries, international travel, higher education systems, culture, and health and safety considerations. The candidate will also work closely with relevant offices such as the Registrar, Financial Aid, Bursar, Academic Advisors, and Faculty.
Responsibilities of the International Program Specialist:
– Provide guidance and support to students throughout the study abroad process, including outreach, advising, orientation, visa applications, and credit transfer.
– Manage student applications and enrollment, maintain web-based forms, enhance marketing and orientation materials, and update program information.
– Coordinate and assist in the development of short-term faculty programs, collect data, conduct student surveys, and create assessment plans for programming and partnerships.
– Assist the Director in creating a vision and program portfolio that offers hands-on experiences for PNW’s diverse and first-generation students.
– Review and implement crisis management procedures and policies, as directed by the director.
– Support students, families, and campus stakeholders in overcoming financial barriers by providing information about external scholarships and grants.
– Meet with other Student Services departments to present study abroad options and conduct information sessions based on curricular design and location.
Liaison to Purdue staff:
– Collaborate closely with Academic Advisors.
– Work with other relevant offices, including the Registrar, Financial Aid, Dean of Students, Campus Police, Bursar, and the Education Abroad Advisory Council.
Representation of Purdue Northwest Programs:
– Represent Purdue at professional conferences, events, and site visits.
– Promote study abroad opportunities by attending Global Partnerships and Programs functions on campus.
