As a key member of the Academy’s close-knit international policy team, the International Policy Officer will support the Senior International Policy Manager to deliver our policy workshop programme. Building on the recent success of the Academy’s policy workshops in low- and middle-income countries, we will be extending this to work with high-income countries with our funding from the ISPF scheme. The International Policy Officer will help to deliver three global health policy workshops per year, which will bring together experts from the UK and high-income countries to address key global health research issues and beyond.

These themes will explore global health topics, including digital health, pandemics, genomics, pathogen detection, biosecurity, and AMR, as well as broader themes of research capacity and systems and climate change. The policy officer will work with the senior manager to narrow the focus, through consultation with our Fellows and Vice President, International and other stakeholders.

Working with our partner countries, the International Policy Officer will help develop and deliver the workshops; develop workshop reports that will include suggested next steps to influence global and national policies related to these key global health research challenges; and draft dissemination plans to achieve the highest impact possible.
