Job Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Senior International Partnerships and Engagement Manager, the International Partnerships Coordinator will provide management support for the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s (AHRC) Asia portfolio and Official Development Assistance (ODA) work. This will involve coordinating strategic activities with partners in India, China, and the Global South, as well as overseeing the International Placement Scheme.
Key responsibilities will include managing funding calls and engagement activities in collaboration with UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) international offices and AHRC’s overseas partners. This will involve close collaboration with the Operations team and other subject teams to ensure proper planning, resource allocation, and adherence to budgetary, reporting, and communications requirements.
The International Partnerships Coordinator will also spearhead the coordination of international workshops, visits, and conferences, and work closely with Senior International Partnership Managers to scope future collaborative initiatives with priority ODA and non-ODA countries. Investment management activities, including overseeing reporting processes, particularly ODA spend and program activity, will also be part of the role.
Main Activities:
– Support the delivery of AHRC’s Asia and ODA portfolios in collaboration with the Senior International Partnerships Manager.
– Manage activities and funding calls related to key programs, such as the India-UK Research into Cultural Heritage and Creative Industries, UK-China Creative Industries Hub, Developing Innovative Approaches to Gender-based Violence Program, and International Placement Scheme.
– Collaborate with the Operations team and other domain teams to ensure effective implementation of funding calls and other activities, providing management support as needed.
– Coordinate international workshops, conferences, visits, and consultation activities, working closely with both internal and overseas partners.
– Engage in scoping and partnership development activities for new international collaborative initiatives in coordination with Senior International Partnerships Managers.
– Oversee investment management activities, including reporting processes and serving as a point of contact for project teams.
– Support AHRC’s full international portfolio, including new non-ODA and European priorities as they arise.
– Contribute to AHRC corporate projects and represent the international partnerships team in internal steering groups.
Person Specification:
Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge:
– A degree or equivalent relevant experience.
– Experience in higher education administration, research administration, government, international organizations, or a similar environment.
People:
– Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with people and colleagues at all levels, internally and externally, including international partners.
– Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and support cross-team collaboration.
Communication:
– Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft guidance documents, reports, briefings, web content, and other materials for diverse audiences.
– Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and represent AHRC to various external stakeholders in the UK and internationally.
Workload Management:
– Proven ability to work independently, use initiative, and effectively manage workload.
– Ability to support and coordinate the work of colleagues at all levels to meet operating deadlines.
