Durham University’s International Office comprises a dynamic team of global education professionals committed to delivering exceptional international education experiences. Our team members are situated across six locations worldwide, including the UK, USA, Malaysia, India, Singapore, and China.
Our responsibilities at Durham University encompass:
- Recruiting international students across all disciplines to ensure we meet institutional targets
- Developing and maintaining international partnerships to enhance our global reputation and support academic colleagues in establishing international links and collaborations
- Managing the University’s student mobility programmes (including Erasmus+) to meet mobility targets for students and teaching staff
This role has a crucial part to play in achieving our University’s Global Strategy goals and is particularly responsible for securing international student recruitment targets within the region. Working closely with the Regional Manager, the post holder will receive guidance and support from their line manager and colleagues to enhance their knowledge of Durham University and the international higher education sector. They will also have the opportunity to develop expertise in promoting a Russell Group institution.
The successful candidate will utilize their networking skills to maintain excellent service delivery to school counselors, educational agents, and prospective students while assisting in the management of the University’s relationships in the market.
The role necessitates travel to strategic recruitment markets, including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya, to conduct recruitment activities. Although market responsibilities may vary over time, the job requires up to two weeks of travel and convenient weekend and evening working schedules.
Our team has adopted a hybrid working model, with team members currently working a minimum of two days per week on Durham’s campus. We highly encourage everyone to be on campus every Wednesday for team bonding activities, while other on-campus days are flexible and dictated by business needs.
