The International Faculty and Scholar Advisor position at Rutgers University’s Office of International Student and Scholar Services is responsible for various tasks related to visa sponsorship and supporting the legal employment of foreign nationals at the university. This includes conferring with academic and research units to provide guidance on visa regulations and policies, as well as assisting the Executive Director for Faculty and Scholar Services in their responsibilities. The advisor also serves as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the J-1 program and is knowledgeable about immigration matters and federal regulations for J-1, H-1B, and other employment-based visa types. In addition, the advisor participates in special projects such as cross-cultural programming, workshops, and trainings, and collaborates with campus partners on matters relevant to international faculty and scholars.
