Duties and Responsibilities:
The International Education Specialist will be responsible for providing advising, administrative, and logistical support to students, faculty, and staff for study abroad programs. Their duties include designing and implementing a comprehensive study abroad program for AUM, establishing and maintaining professional networks with related organizations and agencies, providing study abroad orientation meetings and materials, training and advising student leadership groups, managing the annual budget, preparing evaluation reports, assisting with the processing of admission documents for international students, serving as Designated School Official/Alternate Responsible Officer, advising on visa related issues, updating study abroad handbooks, assisting with office projects, and archiving documents after study abroad trips.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
– Knowledge of international education
– Knowledge of Student Banner or similar software
– Knowledge of acceptable basic management practices
– Knowledge of best industry practices and emerging trends for international education
– Written communication skills
– Problem analysis skills
– Budget development and management skills
– Interpersonal skills
– Public speaking and presentation skills
– Ability to work on multiple projects and respond to competing demands
– Computer proficiency
– Project management skills

Minimum Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in a related area
– Four (4) years of related work experience (education can be substituted)
– Must meet Homeland Security requirements to serve as Designated School Official/Alternate Responsible Officer
