**Position Overview**

**Organization**: International Student and Scholar Services, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is seeking a qualified International Data Management Specialist.

**Core Role and Summary**:
The individual will oversee data management for international students and scholars, ensuring adherence to federal regulations for the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). Additionally, the role includes generating statistical reports for the University and other affiliated bodies.

**Key Responsibilities**:
– Act as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the F-1 and J-1 programs at the University of Illinois, handling tracking, eForm processing, and reporting for SEVIS. Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations concerning SEVP compliance.
– Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the Sunapsis software. Acquire a deep understanding of the Sunapsis database and troubleshoot any related issues.
– Compile and produce statistical reports for departmental use, university offices, and national organizations.
– Help develop and maintain e-forms within the Sunapsis database; manage database access for staff and troubleshoot access or submission issues.
– Collaborate with the Division of Management Information or Technology Services for database-related concerns. Engage in discussions about data management policies and propose feedback.

**Qualifications Required**:
– Bachelor’s Degree
– One (1) year of experience in education, training, or working with data software programs.
– Proven experience in statistical reporting, spreadsheets, and database querying. (A Master’s Degree relevant to the role can substitute for one year of work experience.)
– Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident for DSO and/or ARO responsibilities.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
– Proficiency in MS Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
– Knowledge of federal immigration policies for F-1 and J-1 students.
– Experience with Banner and Sunapsis systems.

**Skills and Abilities**:
– Familiarity with academic and administrative policies and procedures of the university.
– Able to work independently, handle confidential matters sensitively, manage complex projects, and ensure meticulous attention to detail in managing databases and reports.
– Ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Position Details**:
This full-time Civil Service Program Coordinator role is on a 12-month basis, starting in March 2025. The competitive salary range is $45,000 to $55,000, tied to qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Note that the position does not offer work authorization sponsorship.
