**Job Opportunity: International Data Management Specialist**
**About the Company:**
The International Student and Scholar Services at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking an International Data Management Specialist.
**Position Overview:**
The primary role is to manage data for international students and scholars, ensuring compliance with federal regulations related to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) while also providing vital statistical information for the University and associated external entities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Act as the Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for F-1 and J-1 programs. This includes handling the ongoing tracking, eForm processing, and SEVIS-required reporting. Stay updated on laws and policies regarding SEVP compliance.
– Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the Sunapsis software, gaining familiarity with its technical aspects and troubleshooting capability.
– Generate statistical reports for various university offices and national organizations.
– Contribute to the creation and management of e-forms in the Sunapsis database, control database access, and assist with basic troubleshooting.
– Collaborate with the Division of Management Information and Technology Services for database-related challenges, contributing to discussions on data management policies and providing feedback on issues and processes.
**Required Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s Degree
– One (1) year of experience in education, training, and/or working with Data Software programs.
– Proven experience with statistical reporting, spreadsheets, and database queries. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field may substitute for one year of work experience.
– Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to perform DSO and/or ARO duties.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
– Familiarity with federal immigration regulations for F-1 and J-1 students.
– Experience with Banner and Sunapsis systems.
**Skills and Abilities:**
– Understanding of university academic and administrative policies.
– Ability to work independently with discretion, handle confidential information, manage complex projects, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
– Proficient in interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

**Employment Details:**
This is a full-time Civil Service Program Coordinator role appointed on a 12-month service basis, starting in March 2025. The competitive salary is determined based on qualifications and experience, ranging from $45,000 to $55,000, and does not include sponsorship for work authorization.
