Job Title: International Student Compliance Coordinator at the University of Birmingham
Job Overview:
The University of Birmingham is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive International Student Compliance Coordinator to join the Academic Services department. This permanent part-time role focuses on ensuring compliance with Student Sponsor Duties and UK Immigration Rules, specifically for international students. You’ll be a vital member of the International Support Team (IST), providing immigration and compliance advice, delivering training workshops, and managing individual projects. In this role, you will significantly contribute to enhancing the international student experience at Birmingham, supporting initiatives like right to study events and International Welcome programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with immigration rules for international students
- Provide advisory services to students and staff on immigration and compliance matters
- Organize and deliver informational workshops and training events
- Manage individual projects and participate in general administrative duties
- Support and enhance the overall Birmingham Experience for students
Person Specification:
- Minimum A Level qualification or equivalent professional experience
- In-depth knowledge of UK Visas and Immigration rules
- Proven experience in a similar role with strong planning and organizational skills
- Experience in office coordination, staff supervision, and training is desirable
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Flexible, team-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities
