St. Ambrose University is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced International Admissions Counselor. The primary responsibilities of this role include recruiting, admitting, and enrolling international students. The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for prospective international students and their families, and should possess extensive knowledge of the international admissions process, visa regulations, and the U.S. higher education system. Furthermore, they will play a vital role in advising students and the university on immigration regulations and visa compliance, while also contributing to the overall enhancement of international students’ experiences at St. Ambrose University.
The requirements for this role include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years of experience in international student services, admissions, or related fields within higher education. Additionally, the candidate should possess knowledge of foreign education systems, international credential evaluations, SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System), and U.S. immigration regulations.
Preferred qualifications for this position include university advising, admissions, marketing, or sales experience, proficiency in Arabic, Spanish, or another second language, as well as familiarity with Catholic higher education. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and the candidate should be willing to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings if required.
