As an International Admissions Counselor at the University of Washington Bothell, you will play a vital role in promoting and achieving the university’s enrollment goals. This position is initially available for three years, with potential for extension depending on future funding.

Responsibilities:
Recruiting:
– Develop and implement recruitment plans for assigned programs and territories, including participating in college fairs, school visits, workshops, advising appointments, and other recruitment activities.
– Represent UW Bothell at domestic and international educational institutions, community events, and college fairs, with up to 10-12 weeks of annual travel.
– Utilize CRM tools to generate reports and support recruitment plans.
– Cultivate relationships to generate applications and enrollments that meet established goals.
– Collaborate with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and lead outreach efforts to attract a diverse and academically talented student population.
– Participate in on-campus recruitment events and specialized information sessions.

Counseling:
– Provide prospective students with information regarding major courses of study, career options, program eligibility requirements, admission requirements, and university opportunities through in-person meetings, group sessions, phone, email, or web communications.
– Deliver information sessions in person and through virtual platforms.
– Communicate international admissions policies, procedures, and visa regulations to prospective international applicants and families.
– Stay updated on academic programs, co-curricular activities, and financial aid programs to offer comprehensive and accurate guidance to prospective students.
– Collaborate with the International Student Services office to facilitate I-20 issuance and a successful International Student Orientation program.

Admission Processing:
– Conduct holistic application reviews and ratings for assigned applications.
– Serve on Admissions Committees and liaise with assigned programs and schools.
– Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure timely processing of applications and record updates.
– Meet application review deadlines to facilitate on-time admission decisions.
– Utilize CRM tools to update student records and school contacts.

Department Support:
– Collaborate with the team to achieve international student application and enrollment goals.
– Provide feedback and analysis to the Manager on recruitment successes and challenges.
– Maintain web presence, including social media, for international recruitment.
– Supervise the Student Marketing Assistant.
– Contribute to the creation and updating of web and print materials for recruitment.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, psychology, or related field.
– At least 2 years of experience in recruiting, advising, counseling, or similar roles in an educational setting.
– Knowledge and experience of admissions processes.
– Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
– Proven track record of meeting and exceeding measurable goals.
– Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups.
– Proficiency in using technology for data collection, reporting, and documentation.
– Domestic and international travel is required, with a valid passport and driver’s license.
– Presentation and advising skills, including familiarity with technology-based methods.
– Strong attention to detail, dependability, and a positive attitude.

Desired Qualifications:
– Experience in international first-year admissions recruitment.
– Understanding of cultural differences and their impact on college planning.
– Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to student records, admissions, and registration.
– Experience reviewing admissions applications.
– Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
– Experience within a research university setting, such as the UW.
