Job Overview:

Bournemouth University (BU) is seeking a motivated individual to join the International Admissions Team within Academic Services. The role focuses on providing a high-quality admissions service to applicants, faculties, and academic partners globally. You’ll work within a diverse, creative team dedicated to building a global learning community through the fusion of education, research, and practice.

Role Responsibilities:

As a member of the International Admissions Team, you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues across BU to ensure efficient and high-quality admissions services.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and maintain a friendly, patient demeanor.
  • Manage peak workloads, especially during December, January, and August.

This part-time role involves working 18.5 hours per week and does not qualify for sponsorship under the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points-Based System.

Applying with an International Education Perspective:

For those applying internationally:

  1. Understand the Visa Requirements: Since this role doesn’t provide sponsorship for the UK Skilled Worker visa, ensure you have the right to work in the UK independently.
  1. Highlight International Experience: Emphasize any prior experience in international education, cross-cultural communication, and global admissions processes.
  1. Showcase Skills: Clearly demonstrate your organizational, communication, and customer service skills. These are critical for success in this role.
  1. Adaptability: Highlight your adaptability and teamwork abilities, especially in diverse and dynamic environments.
  1. Engage with BU’s Vision: Illustrate how your global perspective can contribute to BU’s goal of worldwide recognition through education, research, and practice integration.
  1. Consider Flexibility: The university values work-life balance, so if needed, propose flexible working or job share arrangements, showcasing how these can benefit both you and the team.
