### Job Summary:

The International Admission Counselor at TCU plays a pivotal role in managing all aspects of the admissions process for prospective international students. Key responsibilities encompass direct engagement with students, parents, and high school counselors to promote TCU’s academic and co-curricular offerings, stimulating applications, making admission decisions, devising and implementing international recruitment strategies, and advising on scholarships and financial aid for first-year, transfer, and non-degree international students. The role heavily relies on data analysis and the Slate admission system for trend monitoring and process optimization. Extensive travel is a fundamental requirement.

### Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. **International Promotion and Recruitment:**
– Develop and execute recruiting strategies tailored to international students.
– Organize both on-campus and off-campus events.
– Create and edit informational and promotional materials.
– Represent TCU at international recruiting events and conduct special tours for prospects.

2. **Immigration Expertise:**
– Stay updated on immigration regulations.
– Serve as a resource for students with immigration-related queries.
– Assist in processing I-20 documents.

3. **Comprehensive TCU Knowledge:**
– Maintain extensive knowledge of TCU’s academic, social, extracurricular, and financial aid programs.
– Communicate this information clearly to prospective students and their families.

4. **Student Recruitment and Counseling:**
– Conduct information and evaluative interviews.
– Advise prospective students on educational and career decisions.
– Manage public relations efforts with students, families, and high school representatives.
– Maintain rapport and communicate application status to facilitate enrollment.

5. **Application and Document Evaluation:**
– Assess applicant transcripts and supporting documents.
– Determine educational needs and the suitability of a TCU education for international students.

6. **Admissions and Scholarship Recommendations:**
– Evaluate applications and make recommendations to the Admissions Committee.
– Advise the scholarship committee regarding awards for incoming students.

7. **Liaison Responsibilities:**
– Act as a liaison with specific TCU schools or programs, providing detailed information and presentations to prospective students and parents.

8. **Record Maintenance and Reporting:**
– Keep accurate records and complete routine reports on recruitment activities and outcomes.

9. **Expense Monitoring:**
– Track and report on travel and admissions programming expenses.
– Manage invoices, purchase orders, and reconcile expenditures.

10. **Program Leadership:**
– Lead high-profile internal recruitment efforts.
– Manage and coordinate special recruitment events, maintaining an active presence at significant TCU events.

11. **Student Transition Support:**
– Guide incoming students to appropriate campus resources for a smooth transition.

12. **Material Transportation:**
– Transport promotional materials to and from international events.

13. **Additional Duties:**
– Perform other related tasks as assigned.

### Required Education & Experience:

– Bachelor’s Degree.
– Experience interacting with diverse populations and demonstrating cultural sensitivity.

### Preferred Education & Experience:

– Experience in higher education admissions or international student recruitment.
– Familiarity with data analysis and interpretation.
– Proficiency with various technological tools, meeting software, and A/V equipment.

### Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

– Valid Driver’s License.
– Ability to obtain a passport.
– Must meet university motor vehicle insurability requirements.

### Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:

– Expertise in Slate or other CRM.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom or other virtual meeting software.

### Work Environment:

– Primarily indoor work with variable hours and high travel demands.
– High travel seasons with extensive travel periods.
