Job Title: International Project Officer

Summary: The International Project Officer will provide support to the Global Wales team in delivering successful events and delegations in various international markets. The role includes organizing tours, managing travel arrangements, assisting with market development visits, representing Global Wales at events, and providing administrative support.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Global Wales team in organizing events and delegations in Canada, Europe, India, and Vietnam, including:
– Organizing the annual Guidance Counsellor/Advisor tour for Europe, including managing applications and communications, coordinating visit programs, arranging receptions, and providing on-site support.
– Managing Study in Wales presence at international education conferences, including travel arrangements, receptions, and liaison with university colleagues.
– Assisting with arrangements for international market development travel and visits, including venue bookings, travel arrangements, and information distribution.
2. Represent Global Wales/Study in Wales at domestic and occasional international events/conferences.
– Support senior colleagues in hosting delegations and VIP visits.
3. Assist the International Project Officer in monitoring and evaluating event activities, including managing the events calendar, gathering feedback, and maintaining activity reports.
– Specifically responsible for activities related to Canada, Europe, India, and Vietnam.
4. Provide general administration support, including:
– Managing shared calendars and email inboxes.
– Maintaining contact lists and databases.
– Assisting with subgroup meetings, including scheduling, preparing materials, and taking notes.
– Supporting logistical arrangements for travel and events.
5. Collaborate with other delivery partners in the Global Wales program as required.
Essential/Desirable qualifications, skills, and knowledge:
Qualifications and Training:
– Educated to A-level or equivalent, with a commitment to in-work training.
– At least one year of work experience in a relevant area.
Professional Background and Experience:
– Experience in an organization or institution related to higher or further education (desirable).
Skills and Aptitudes:
– Excellent numeracy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
– Strong attention to detail and ability to manage diverse workflows effectively.
– Excellent written and oral communication skills.
– Ability to present numerical data simply.
– Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work within a small team.
– Experience in finding administrative and technical solutions to improve efficiency (desirable).
– Fluency in Welsh (written and oral) (desirable).
Specialist Knowledge:
– Understanding of Welsh and UK higher and further education (desirable).
