Applications are now open for a full-time, temporary position as Interim Director of Global Engagement at the International Education Centre, part of the Marketing, Communications & Recruitment department. Do you have the vision and passion to lead and implement a new Global Engagement Strategy for a prominent Welsh University? Bangor University is looking for a dynamic Interim Director of Global Engagement to elevate our international engagement across student recruitment, transnational education, partnerships, mobility, and admissions. Collaborating with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Global) and Chief Marketing Officer, you will offer strategic direction to a dedicated team of professionals. Your goal will be to execute our new Global Engagement Strategy, focusing on:
– Expanding and diversifying our student body
– Fostering partnership development
– Establishing our Global Bangor brand
– Instilling a global mindset
Ideal candidates will possess a degree or equivalent qualification and have extensive experience in the higher education sector, showcasing a track record of successfully achieving international recruitment and partnership goals while empowering students. Significant senior management experience in a higher education context is essential, as is a proven history of developing and implementing international strategies and policies.
The successful candidate should be ready to start immediately, with the position available until 31 October 2025. The role is based on Bangor’s campus, but under our Dynamic Working framework, there is flexibility for some remote work within the UK to support work-life balance. Details will be discussed during the interview process. Some international travel will be required.
