The EDI team is responsible for managing the EDI and Health and Wellbeing strategies, identifying priorities, and implementing best practices across the university.
Inclusive Practice Officers play a key role in driving culture change activities and supporting the Transforming Futures EDI Strategy 2030. Currently, the team is focused on ground-up EDI and health and wellbeing initiatives, including managing teams of champions, delivering programs of events, and developing policies and equality analysis to foster inclusivity in university-wide practices and decision-making.
The EDI team is part of the Library, Careers, and Inclusivity (LCI) department at UWE Bristol. The team’s goal is to deliver exceptional outcomes for all students in collaboration with faculties and other services, impacting student recruitment, academic success, satisfaction, and graduate destinations.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of EDI issues for staff and students at universities. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will have the opportunity to develop and test new approaches and evaluate their impact.
You will have experience in developing and delivering inspiring training and activities that engage staff and students. You will work across the university, building relationships and coordinating the delivery of activities throughout the academic year, including running stalls, delivering briefings or training, leading planning meetings, and conducting focus groups with students and staff.
The role calls for organizational and administrative skills, along with a creative mindset, to contribute to achieving an inclusive culture at UWE Bristol, delivering a varied, often self-directed role that makes a real difference to the lived experience of all students and staff.
Location:
This position is based at the Frenchay campus, where UWE Bristol has invested in the latest facilities and resources, providing both staff and students with access to everything they need to succeed. The university continues to develop incredible new facilities to enhance its offer further.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 37 hours per week.
