**Immigration Clerical Assistant – Part-time**

**Overview:**

This is a part-time role requiring 20 hours per week, with possible remote work options. The position supports immigration case processing for international students enrolled in degree and non-degree programs at the University of Georgia. The role demands discretion and independent judgment in managing immigration options, case and benefit eligibility, filings, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations for both students and the University. Responsibilities may include working with J-1 sponsored students, Fulbright scholars, J-1 student interns, and F-1 visa holders. Proficiency in University technology systems such as e-mail, calendar systems, SAVE, Banner, Sunapsis, and Athena is preferred.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Immigration Services.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– **75%**: Act as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (A/RO). Provide immigration advice for F-1 and J-1 student visa categories and their dependents in F-2 or J-2 status, including IEP students. Process cases using Sunapsis and SEVIS RTI (real-time interface).

– **10%**: Support the Director in managing SEVIS reporting and data tracking for F and J students and their dependents, ensuring compliance and timely case processing.

– **10%**: Collaborate with other Student Advisors to update immigration advising materials, including information handouts, orientation presentations, cover letters, support letters, and website content.

– **5%**: Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**

– Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Personnel Management).
– Minimum of 2 years of experience as a DSO and ARO, working with international populations, immigration regulations, legal issues, and SEVIS functionalities.
– Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Windows, MS Office, and Excel. Experience with Sunapsis and Banner is advantageous.
– Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills
