Job Title: International Student Support Assistant (Part-Time)
Working Hours: 25 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed)
Location: Students Union Building – Level 6, Western Bank, Broomhall, Sheffield S10 2TG (Hybrid)
Are you enthusiastic about supporting international students and ensuring they have a positive student experience? If so, we have a new opportunity within our International Student Support, Advice & Compliance (ISSAC) team that may be perfect for you.
The ISSAC team, consisting of 11 staff members in the Student Experience and Support section, is responsible for assisting our international students (approximately 10,000) with visa and immigration queries and plays a vital role in complying with UKVI legislation.
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional service while adhering to the necessary procedures and legislation. This role offers the chance to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge through handling diverse responsibilities.
As a key member of the ISSAC team, you will support our efforts to provide excellent service to our students. Your responsibilities will include administrative tasks, serving as a point of contact for student and staff enquiries, and providing overall assistance to the team.
This position also presents opportunities for you to expand your expertise in various areas of our section, such as implementing visa compliance processes and assisting students with immigration-related questions. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, cultural awareness and sensitivity, and the ability to find appropriate solutions in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
