About the International Growth Centre (IGC): The IGC collaborates with policymakers in developing nations to encourage inclusive and sustainable growth through groundbreaking research. As a global research hub, we boast a network of top-tier researchers, in-country teams, and initiatives active throughout Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. Our centre is headquartered at LSE and in association with the University of Oxford, with primary funding from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Our efforts are aimed at enhancing the productivity of individuals and businesses, driving sustainable economic development.

Position: IGC Senior Communications and Events Officer

Role Overview: The Senior Communications and Events Officer will be pivotal in advancing IGC’s research and insights within global and national policy-making spheres. The role involves engaging with key external audiences and managing campaigns, digital content, publications, and media strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop and manage external communications plans for various IGC campaigns.
– Produce accessible publications summarizing research for policymakers.
– Address and manage the website ticket backlog.
– Create content for digital platforms, including the website, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and newsletters via Mailchimp.
– Support the IGC’s media strategy, including monitoring mentions and drafting press releases.
– Assist in organizing and executing online and in-person IGC events.

Candidate Profile:

– Proven experience crafting and executing integrated communications campaigns.
– Strong writing and content creation skills across multiple platforms for a diverse global audience.
– Experience in providing communication and event support for varied audiences.
– Familiarity with CMS systems, ideally Drupal.
– Exemplary listening, collaboration skills, and cultural sensitivity.
– Experience in communications related to research/policy in economics or international development.

Position Details: The role is based at the IGC Hub within the LSE in central London and is offered as a full-time, open-ended position, subject to funding.
